Recently, a group of American scientists published their newest findings saying that migraines turned out to have direct links with the levels of incomes and economic situation of modern people.
The sicnetists analyzed personal information collected on a number of participants, both male and female, ages between 25 and 34. The participants were asked a number of questions regarding their psychological condition, economic situation and social status, about their job and success in this life, as well as about common health problems that they are suffering from. A surprising tendency was found out that migraines affect more people with low income and tight budget. Thus, 20 per cent of women and 5 per cent of men with high income levels complained about migraines, when 29 per cent of women and 8 per cent of men with medium income reported suffering from this problem. Finally, 39 per cent of women and 13 per cent of men with low income reported having migraines.
The scientists are convinced that having even such common problem as chronic headaches and migraines can seriously affect our life and our chances to succeed in this life, especially as to personal and career development. It is possible that migraines minimally affect brain and even cause some kind of shrinking. The researchers say that migraines should not be neglected, and it is very important to learn managing with this problem which is proven to be linked to increased risks for heart disease and other serious health problems. It is estimated that migraines affect up to 10 per cent of people in the world, putting our health and our social welfare to danger of decline.
